Partners 500GB Seagate HDD

The donor SATA connector off of my dead 2TB HDD. I also trimmed off the sides that were to large for the new PCB.

Another shot of the connector, with careful use of the heat gun & some capton tape I was able to remove it without damaging it. The dead connector got completely destroyed.

The HDD PCB with the broken connector removed & old solder cleaned off.

The new connector soldered on complete with used flux to help the solder flow.

The connector after the flux has been cleaned off.

The HDD after the repair.

The bottom side of the HDD after the repair. Once it was done I hooked it up to a caddy & the drive worked. My partner was then able to recover the data off of the drive.
