Husky Hawk

The Hawk is pretty much a cost reduced Husky Hunter 2, runs on the same DEMOS 2.21 9G08h V4. Uses a custom chip for a Z80 CPU, the clock is pulled off of a shared 12.2880 crystal which would be the heartbeat for the CPU, serial ports & everything else. The CPU should be clocked at 6.144MHz. The Hawk has a decent amount of I/O, total of three ports, one on the right & anther two on the left.

Sadly this Hawk came dead, I have not ben able to figure out why it did not work, however when I got the Hunter 16, it was some how smashed to bits. So I swapped the LCD's over & got my Hunter 16 operational. Hopefuly one day I will get this machine operational.

The rear of the Hawk, does not use the memory installed in the serial number anymore. Built for holding in ones hand. Nice solid plastic construction. However not waterproof or as rugged as the computer it is a cost reduced version of, the Husky Hunter 2.

Opened one can see the machine is mostly RAM. The only other chips on the board are the EPROM chips thta contain the OS & other firmware & a custom Hitarchi chip. HD64B180R0F is basicly a Z80 on a single chip, it is pretty much the entier Husky Hunter on a chip. The firmware is on three 27C256 EPROM's Firmware can be found here: Husky Hawk EPROMS.
